From Italy to Greece, with LoveWednesday, May 16, 2012 By Danny Madeiros
After almost a year of anticipation, 26 of the Latin department’s enthusiastic scholars embarked upon the trip of a lifetime. In February 2012, these Latin stars took to the big yellow bus, with a plethora of bags in tote, and headed to the historical meccas, otherwise known as Italy and Greece. I was lucky enough to be one of these traveling scholars. Over a hectic 10 day period, we would end up visiting some of the greatest and richest areas in history. We however, were not without supervision. Leading the trip was the chic and sophisticated Miss Leanne VIllani. Gal pal and colleague, Senorita Cavallaro also came, along with several other willing parents. Our trip could not have happened without the help of EF tours who handled almost every aspect of the trip, and specifically without our tour guide, Roberto. We saw almost every sight there is to see, tasted almost every food each country has to offer, and spent as much money as we could. The jam-packed schedule was necessary to experience everything in so short a time, but we all, at least I, enjoyed the days when we had time off to experience the culture in our own way. With little sleep, but plenty of fun each and every one of us can safely say that we have a deep knowledge of the culture and history of both Italy and Greece. We all thoroughly enjoyed the experience and I think most of us realized this more, after we returned home and like Latin department-head, and fashionista Leanne VIllani has said “everything that could go right, did”. |
