This year, the class of 2012 took a different angle towards their gift. “We are going to leave money for the library to purchase any materials that teachers might need next year,” said Christina Montoya, the 2012 senior class sponsor. Montoya has been with the class of 2012 from their freshmen year to their senior year. She has helped organize different activities this year like the Senior Breakfast and the Senior Field Day. “I ran it by my president Sibia Ramos, and she agreed since we did not have a large amount of money in the account,” explained Montoya. The class of 2011 left behind a remembrance stone which is located in the front of the school. The class of 2010 left behind two large lobo statues that are located in the lobby of Chaparral High School. “I wish we could have left something more significant behind, but the money and the resources did not allow for that,” said Montoya. In total, the class of 2012 left $600 for the library to use in the 2012-2013 school year. |
