Safety In the DistrictFriday, May 25, 2012 By Mikayla Born
Loyalsock Towship School District has recently activated a School Safety Tip Line. The line allows tips to be made regarding safety by anonymous users. Users, which include students from the elementary to high school level, parents, and community members, can call or text message a phone number to report a safety tip. Some of the main purposes of the School Safety Tip Line are to protect the students of Loyalsock Township from bullying, drugs, alcohol, or weapons present at any event that is associated with school. Those who answer and receive tip messages are school administrators. High School Assistant Principle, Mr. Greevy, encourages students to use this School Safety Tip Line. He assures that all calls will be “kept confidential.” However, students are reminded to use this only for urgent situations. If used correctly, the School Safety Tip Line is one tool that will help keep Loyalsock Township safe. School Administrators hope that if an emergency arises, students will be able to utilize this line to inform others of the dangers. |
