Not sure what your plans are for the summer? Summer is a time where you can do anything you enjoy and try something new. Here are just a few examples of different opportunities you could take advantage of over the summer. Get a summer job – some cash in your pocket, some work experience, and a great item on your resume! Go to a summer camp – summer camps are available for almost anything your interested in! Start a workout plan – if you had no time to exercise during the school year, get fit, in shape and ready for next year! Volunteer – an animal shelter, food bank, library, etc. would be happy to have the help! Start a small business or fund raiser – learn some skills while helping people out! Take up an instrument – go out of your comfort zone and learn some new music! Make a summer reading list – get caught up with the books you love to read! Take a college class – get a jump start on your future education! Get an internship – get real-life work experience in the field you want to pursue! Pick up a new skill – computer programming, baking, painting, or really anything! Spend more time with nature – go hiking, go fishing, or anything to get outside! Take up astronomy – spend some time stargazing and learning about the universe! Make a garden – get your green thumb and grow a garden! Start your own project – do anything your interested in and to it by your own rules! Do some creative writing – write a short story, a poem, or even a novel! Make a movie – depict your summer life on film! Expand your horizons – try something new and out of your comfort zone! Summer is a time to further explore what you love to do and to find something new and different that you discover a passion for doing. These are just a few suggestions of what proactive things you can do with your summer. Be creative, do what you love, and most importantly, have fun! |
