Four boys from the Pembroke 800 meter relay team broke a 20 year record. Wesley Gallagher, Joe Vercollone, and Christian and Billy Stafford ran a flat 8:00 minutes. They broke the previous D III Relay Meet record by five seconds. Coach Greg Zopatti said, “We did see the time, and we knew that with just a little work that we could beat the time” Spectator, Brendan Johnson said, “It was still and intense race, I mean even a two minute 800 is a big deal so when four guys do it back to back it’s pretty awesome.” |
