Basketball BanquetThursday, May 31, 2012 By Ryan Bogaczyk
Every year, the basketball season creeps up on everyone extremely quick, then goes by even quicker. The senior athletes come and go just as quick as the season. Along with the senior athletes, the entire season, and another high school comes and goes. For one night a year, the Booster Club takes their time and money to organize a team banquet for the basketball team. The banquet consists of food, players, families, and an annual recap/highlight video. This year, the banquet was at the Villa Restaurant. The players were served with a large, all you can eat pasta buffet with the option of raviolis and a salad. Throughout the banquet, players got the chance to recall past games and discuss the fun events that occurred throughout the season. The coach talked about every player in particular and talked about how important each player was to the team. To wrap up the banquet, the coaches all presented trophies and awards to players that were all-conference, all-district, all-state, or awards players earned throughout the year from the coaches. “A banquet is a great way for the players and their families to come together and reflect on the past year and I think it means a lot to everyone involved with Loyalsock Basketball.” Said Assistant Coach Jeff Everett. Coach Everett was correct about how much it means to everyone, and it’s all thanks to the Booster Club. |
