In this article I will be telling you about Major League Baseball (MLB) superstar, Josh Hamilton. Hamilton was born on May 21, 1981 in Raleigh, North Carolina. An outfielder, he has been in the big leagues since his MLB debut on April 3, 2007 for the Cincinnati Reds. Josh Hamilton currently plays for the Texas Rangers and has since 2008. This paragraph is all about some of Josh Hamilton’s greatest achievements and his statistics. After Hamilton’s fantastic 2008 season he was chosen to the American League All-Star team and was chosen again for the next three years. He also competed in the 2008 Home Run Derby. He began the first round with a record 28 home runs, and the he finished with 35 home runs which is second-most all time in derby history. On November 23, 2010 Hamilton was named the 2012 AL MVP, earning 22 of the 28 first place votes. Then on May 8, 2012 Hamilton became the 16 th player in MLB history to hit 4 Home Runs in one game, and set an AL record with 18 total bases in one game. Then in the very next game he hit 2 more home runs and 2 RBI’s (Runners Batted In). No one is perfect though. In the preseason of 2001 Hamilton was in a car accident, and his mother and father were also injured, but healed quickly. The beginning of the 2001 season kicked of his drug and alcohol use, and for the first time he attempted rehab. Hamilton barely played any baseball that season, but did what he could. His next few seasons were the same due to the coming and going of neck and toe injuries. From 2004 to 2006 Josh did not play baseball at all. Then things started looking up when the Cincinnati Reds picked him up. He was named rookie of the year. On December 21, 2007 Hamilton was traded by the Reds to the Texas Rangers. He has played on the Rangers team from 2008-present. This article was written to tell you about the MLB superstar Josh Hamilton, and I hope it told you enough.
