A Revere High School senior plans to continue her soccer career next season in college while studying and preparing herself for her near future. Emma Harding will play division three soccer at Baldwin Wallace University. Harding has been playing soccer since she was four years old. She played on multiple club teams and Revere’s Varsity Women’s Soccer team for her entire high school career, serving as a captain her senior year. She played on a boys’ team when she was younger. She commented on how she feels about playing soccer in college. "There’s no way I could give [soccer] up because I love it too much," Harding said. She feels college soccer will be "more competitive" compared to high school, however, she hopes to gain a lot from playing at a higher level. She explained one experience she hopes to have from playing. "I’m not going to be playing after college, so hopefully I can make friends and have a good group of friends that have the same interests," Harding said. Harding also said she wants to make "lifetime memories [she] can remember when [she is] older." Harding has many goals for the upcoming season. She hopes to start in Varsity games, play in every game and score a "goal or two." She stated what else she hopes to achieve. "I want to play as much [soccer] as I possibly can play. It’s going to be hard because it’s my freshman year. Hopefully I can overcome that, play a lot and do well," Harding said. Harding will miss knowing everyone from her high school team on her team in college. She talked about how high school will be different from college soccer. "High school soccer is fun because you’ve known most of the girls forever. I’ve known most of the girls I’ve been playing with for a long time so it’s going to be different not knowing anyone," Harding said. Harding has not chosen her major yet, but she hopes to determine it throughout the course of her college career.
