The Lady Centurions faced a successful season this year, having so far an Empire record of 7-4-0 and an Overall record of 15-7-0. They defeated softball teams from the following schools: Yorba Linda, Tustin, Valencia, Western, Trabuco Hills, Northwood, Mira Costa, Sunny Hills, Loara, and St. Joseph/Lakewood. Cypress High School Softball team has struck the season with our customary orange, white, and blue. The Cypress Softball team won against their tough competition, the Pacifica High School Mariners on May 10, 2012. The two teams were tied for 6 whole innings 0 to 0 until finally scoring a homerun in the last inning. “Hopefully we’ll win, we lost against them last time. But the attitude of the girls is more focused now,” Team Manager Caitlin Fujitani said before the game. “Both teams’ defenses were powerful. Nobody got a point until the last inning because everyone was so good at catching,” Junior Christian Jost recalls. This home game against Pacifica was won through the great help of all the seniors on the team, recognized by Cypress High School that Senior Night. Seniors Cindy Chavez , Meranda Marchese , Alexis Ramdhani , and Caitlin Fujitani were recognized for their great participation to the sport and to Cypress High School. Their teamwork will be sorely missed.
