Emily Rommel has had the definition of a stellar year. She started on varsity volleyball, basketball and softball. In basketball she claimed the prestigious PIL player of the year award, which is almost always awarded to a senior. All of this as a sophomore. “I have been working really hard for a long time and things are finally starting to pay off,” said Rommel. Even though she continues to play at an all-star level, her mentality of being a team player has not changed. When asked about what her biggest accomplishment this year was, she said winning the PIL basketball title by far. As for her future beyond high school, she doesn’t quite know yet. The only thing that she knows for sure is that division one sports is where she wants to be. Even though she isn’t as confident about making it to the pros as college, it appears that nothing is out of reach. |
