viewers love American ReunionMonday, June 11, 2012 By Tyler LaBombard
“American Reunion” is the newest movie in the American Pie series after following “American Pie “ of 1999 and “American Pie 2” of 2003. The movie is about 113 minutes long. It made over 21 million dollars the first week, and as of May first grossed in over 128 million dollars. The movie features the same cast as the original two movies, with all your favorite characters, like Michelle, Jim, Jim's dad, Heather, Oz, Kevin, Vicky, Finch, Stiffler and all their friends. The original American Pie movie was known as Jason Biggs (Jim), breakthrough role as an actor, and in “American Reunion” he gives his best performance since then. The characters meet back in the hometown of East Great Falls, Michigan for the ten year high school reunion. Jim meets his neighbor that he use to babysit 10 years ago, Kara who is now all grown up and developing a crush on Jim. Stiffler finds out that everyone has grown up except for himself, Fich shares his life of luxury with the other guys, Kevin realises he needs to get out with the guys more, and Oz realises his perfect life isn’t so perfect after all. By all these characters being reunited, old memories stir up, like the webcam incident between Jim and Nadia, and new memories are made, like the guys playing pranks on Karas obnoxious new boyfriend. “American Reunion” is rated R due to crude and sexual content throughout, nudity, language, brief drug use, as well as teen drinking. The movie has an interesting storyline, and really shows how the characters have grown up over the years. The movie keeps up with the tradition of the first two movies, with awkward situations between Jim and his dad, as well hilarious and very inappropriate sexual scenes throughout the entire movie. The plot is filled with surprises and twists, that will keep you on the edge of your seat, as well as hilarious moments , that will keep you laughing for the duration of the film. The movie is longer than most comedies, but there is not one dull moment, you will leave the movie theatre laughing. Overall I give the movie 4 out of 5, and if you are an “American Pie” fan it is a must see. |
