MHS’s Bucket List: 40 Things to do Before YOU GraduateTuesday, June 12, 2012 By Karlee Kuc ‘14
So it’s that time of the year again, graduation time. Maybe reading about where all of the seniors are going to college excites you because they will be out of the high school, or maybe it depresses you because they will be out of high school and you won’t. Either way, there are some things seniors wished they could have done before graduation and the list below will tell you what you should take advantage of while you are here. So whether you have 2 months, 1 year, 2 years, or 3 years left, here are some things you just MUST do at Montgomery High School: 1. Attend a Montgomery Cougars football game (GO Cougars!) 2. Attend at least (but not limited to) 1 Homecoming Dance (Get your groove on!) 3. Dougie with Mr. Anagbo (despite popular belief, no, he was never a basketball player) 4. Exchange a high five with Ms. Geiger. 5. Give blood during MHS’s blood drive (Bonus- you get a sticker…and get to save 3 lives) 6. Eat nachos (mystery meat and cheese included) from the school cafeteria 7. Perform something on the stage (High School Musical MHS edition?) 8. Jump off the high dive in the swimming pool 9. Participate in Powder-puff (boys-that means cheerleading) 10. Fall asleep in class (accidentally of course) 11. Dress up for Spirit Week (yes, WEEK) 12. Defeat Hillsborough and Ridge 13. Befriend a custodian 14. Have Ms. Kim “look at” (criticize) your writing 15. Donate to locks of love (girls or boys, we don’t judge) 16. Have a conversation with Aba Quansah (love her! Hurry though-it’s her last year!) 17. Dress up for Halloween (bust out that Sleeping Beauty costume- we know you’ve always wanted to) 18. Convince your teacher to spend a class outside (the brighter the sun, the brighter you’ll be!) 19. Perform at Coffeehouse (we’re talking to you shower-singers) 20. Play Speed Ball (show off that arm of yours) 21. Get your phone taken away by Mr. Stern (but you were texting your mom!) 22. Wear your pajamas to school (yes, the footie ones) 23. Bust a move in the cafeteria (you ARE born that way) 24. Say hello to someone you have never seen before in the hallway (the cute guy in your math class doesn’t count) 25. Get the lunch lady to knit a hat for you 26. Go to prom (High school is not complete without some prama!) 27. Go to Communiversity in Princeton 28. Go to the Lock-in at St. Charles Borromeo (All religions are welcome!) 29. Join a team or club (show that Cougar pride!) 30. Volunteer (anywhere!) 31. Get your picture on the Montgomery Township District page (Photobombs count) 32. Have a picnic on the benches outside during lunch 33. Participate in Run with Rotary (a.k.a.… Walk With Rotary for some of us!) 34. Pull a prank on a friend 35. Ask someone to prom (boys, make it creative!) 36. Identify something you want to change and do it (you are the change you wish to see in the world) 37. Make Honor Roll at least once (incentive= free snack) 38. Play Senior Assassins (when you soak your cranky neighbor, you can finally justify your actions- “Oops… I could have sworn you were…insert player name here”) 39. Watch a hockey game (it’s worth the trip, the team is actually good) 40. Make different friends! (80% of seniors interviewed said they wished they had made friends out of their clique) |
