Drug testing -- Helps doesn't HurtTuesday, March 01, 2005 By DANIEL OLIVEIRA--1st Q. journalism
Suppose you are sick and someone cures you. Would you feel angry? I certainly wouldn’t feel angry because I know that that person wants the best for me. It’s the same way about drug testing because as everybody knows by now drugs do destroy lives and families and everything that is around that person who uses and abuses drugs. Drug testing should be totally legal in schools and at home and at work because that is a very good way to help people. But there is one thing I really disagree with and that is the attitude people take after a person is tested positive. Often people tend to consider the drug user as a hopeless person and instead of helping him they discriminate him by not letting him study, work, be free, etc. Drug testing should be legal every where. There should be a plan to help people with drug problems so they can start a new life. However, people are free to make their own choices. They need to remember, however, “You can choose to do wrong but you can’t choose your consequences” so the only thing we can do for those that don’t want help is to be there friends and always be there because at some point they’ll ask for help and you as a good friend should offer it |
