Our heartbeats sounded loudly to the beat of our vibrating hands. We were nervous but we had good reason. It was time for Trish Roche, Sabrina Morgan and I to participate in a conference call with All American Rejects! Mrs. Caldwell had to dial the number for us because we were so nervous. It was so exciting. We got this opportunity through our journalism class and were joined by students from about seven other schools. I was expecting to talk to professional musicians and wasn’t sure if we would be able to really relate to them. As it turns out, the members of the band we just like us in the way they talked and laughed. They had great sense of humor. The questions asked by the participants mostly revolved around their new CD, Move Along and how they were inspired to write certain songs. Other questions asked were about their personal lives and what they like to do. One question (asked by Trish) wasn’t answered because the answer wasn’t “G” rated. The exclusive interview went really good overall except for the bad reception and the echo through all the phone lines. By the end we weren’t nearly as shaky. It was really interesting to see the similarities that we have with someone that is so idolized. It really gave me a new perspective on famous people and how they are just… people. |
