The Bluffer
Artist to be Recognized: Jillian JacksonMonday, March 20, 2006 By Haley Adams
Jillion Jackson is a photographer in the ninth grade. She mostly does architectural photos, and she started because her father, whom she really looks up to, introduced her to it, and she just picked it up from there. Jillion has been into photography for about four or five years and has won five first-place ribbons, one third place and one honorable mention for photography at the Margaret Harwell Art Museum. She mostly takes pictures with a digital camera, but sometimes she will use film. She doesn’t have a real preference on black and white or color photos. “It depends on the subject. Black and white tends to be more dramatic,” said Jillion Jillion’s hobbies also include swimming, racquetball and traveling. Some times she works in her father’s office for a little extra money. She doesn’t really have a favorite place to photograph. “If I see something I like I just take a picture,” she said. Jillion said, “My favorite picture is one I did of a gravestone in the Smoky Mountains. It was my first ever first- place ribbon. The lighting in the picture is my favorite part. It illuminated the cross on top of the grave. I think it looks peaceful.” |
