Ninth Grade PlayEverything But a HorrorSunday, January 05, 2003 By Leora Kalikow
On Sunday, May 19th, and Monday, May 20, the freshmen at SSHS put on their first high school play ever, “Little Shop of Horrors.” “It was grueling, struggling, and heartbreaking at times, but it pulled through,” said freshman Alex Gordon, who performed as a Doo-Wop girl, “But the final outcome was fantastic!” “I loved the experience of putting on the first ever SSHS production, we had amazing directors and an amazing cast,” said freshman Jackie Grosser, who starred in the play as Audrey. After months and months of hard work by both the cast and Mr. Cahr, fine arts and music director and Ms. Feig, drama director, the play proved to be a great success. “I think that the intimacy of the cast and the serious, aggressive, attitude of the students made for an amazing experience,” said Mr. Cahr. SSHS’ premier play was an obvious hit, and we can only look forward to the other productions to come in future years. A special thanks to the cast and crew: Jackie Grosser, Shoshana Gottfried, Rachel Weinberger, Gavi Young, Rachel Soffer, Amanda Jonat, Alex Gordon, Jennifer Scheinhorn, Mara Rosenfeld, Jill Flashner, Simon Asulin, Molly Rosenberg, Becky Katz, Jocelyn Fraum, Jason Schreier, Mrs. Feig, and Mr. Cahr. |
