Theatre really stimulates the brain, so it’s no surprise a
school like Linwood would have a Drama Club. The Drama Club first started when Linwood opened many years
ago. I was lucky enough to get an
exclusive interview with the Drama Club advisor, Mr. Golazeski.
Mr. Golazeski was a helper with the Drama Club for many
years, but this is his first year as advisor. This year the club is doing a classic fairy tale, The
Princess and the Pea. Mr. G’s favorite plays from the past
include Fiddler on the Roof and Seussical
the Musical. His least favority was James and the Giant Peach. The
kids just started improvising in the middle of it! The Drama Club always gets right down to business, talking
about the play on the first meeting.
The group does vocal warm-ups to make sure that their voices are in top
shape. They meet every Thursday in
Mr. Golazeski’s room after school.
The Drama Club is a lot of hard work and a long
process. Seeing the play come full
circle is more than enough of a reward not only for Mr. Golazeski, but for
every member of the club.
