Do you have that special talent? Do you enjoy that rush of energy, the
adrenaline running throughout your body, when confronting a mountain of
work due tomorrow? If yes, you might have a passion for procrastination.
Imagine
this: you’ve been assigned a 5-page essay about time management. Pretty
easy, right? Of course, that can be done in no time. Really, literally
no time needed.
Since the assignment is not due for a whole week, who needs all that time to write it?
A
loser, that’s who. They’re too busy missing out on the fun that the
week can offer. Yet, a person who is “smart” would know the amount of
time it takes for him or her to complete the work.
As
such, the art of procrastinating begins. So now, you have this
assignment to do in addition to other homework in your classes. But not
to worry, because on top of that is another project on the evolution of
mankind.
Hold it. First, procrastinators need to relax with a schedule like that and then get the momentum ready for work.
Procrastinators
rest their eyes on TV, computer, and cell phone screens. The fingers of
a procrastinator are toned and lean from the excessive exercise of
clicking remotes, typing on the keyboards and pushing buttons on
phones. Next up is leisure time, taking place on the bed. Laying down
and having a long, relaxing, quiet nap for about 3 hours isn't any
surprise. With the energy from the power nap, the procrastinator can
finally enjoy themselves at a party.
At the ensuing
party, the creative juices start flowing. Gin and juice really
inspires. After all the partying, it’s past 2 a.m. and time to sleep.
Now
the day before the assignment is due, the real hard work begins, the
fun and exciting part. At last! So it’s done, the stress is gone, and
it didn’t take much time, but you already created a pathway for
completing the assignments.
You put in sweat and effort
during those two hours before the crack of dawn. The next day at school
during nutrition you finish up your masterpiece, and when nutrition
ends you turn it in. When you release your paper, it triggers you to
reminisce about your work.
Nevertheless, let’s be honest.
Procrastinators are better. We are sneaky, slick, swift and strong.
It’s the cease and desist order that ends workload. We don’t let things
pile up, freak out and then get going. We manage. We’re set. We’re
ready. And when the right time comes, we work. As one can see this is
how we make sure the assignments have ample time to ensure that we can
get our work done and when that time comes, that’s when the fun gets
going.
However, it's up to the teacher who has the power to
give the recognition to those who have earn it. Our work is done; we
have given effort, most importantly, a product of our talent. When the
teacher gives us recognition of our hard work, we will definitely stand
up and accept that the teacher is honored because of us and sees the
dedication in our work.
The beauty of procrastination is never-ending.
