Justin Bieber released his movie Never Say Never on February, 11, 2011. He was unaware of what the fan and public reaction would turn out to be. From my point of view, the reaction should be a loud round of applause.
The film takes you through Bieber’s childhood, and shows how he gradually rose to fame. There are clips of him playing music as a young child, showing the growth of how he always had an interest in music. It gives everyone in Bieber’s life a chance to tell their stories also, especially the people who helped him along with his musical career. People develop their own opinions of how Bieber acts, when he is not as terrible as some believe him to be. In the movie, his managers gave out tickets to random fans that could not afford to attend concerts. They showed simple acts of kindness for his fans in the public, and also during the live concerts.
This is not completely a concert film; the songs only twist in throughout pieces of the movie. I walked into this movie at the furthest point of being a Bieber fan, until I really listened to his story. I believed that Bieber did not work for his fame, thinking that it was handed to him from Usher. That was not the actual case. Bieber did play at smaller venues, eventually posting videos to YouTube. He is really underestimated when it comes to the music industry.
If people take the time to go see this movie, I believe that they will have a new respect and perspective on Bieber. I walked in the theatres with low expectations, and walked out as one of his newest fans.
