The cottage...


During summer vacation my family goes to the Cottage. That’s what we call it. It’s a little cottage on Long Pond. It sits right in front of the lake which is great for swimming. There’s a little field in the back that’s great for baseball. There’s also a nice hammock hanging on two trees in the front of the cottage that’s perfect for relaxing by the lake. The stone patio with patio chairs and a wooden picnic table is perfect for making s’mores or grilling with the grill and the fireplace.

The indoors is cozy and rustic. All the walls are made of genuine wood. There are two lofts high up with windows that pull in a nice breeze. There are two bedrooms (on the ground level). There is a comfortable living room with a fireplace and a couch. While sitting in this room you are watched by a moose head above the fireplace. The “porch,” or so we call it ,is pretty much a living room/ screen room with windows all around the room. The porch has a TV and a dining room table because that’s where we eat.

The kitchen is slightly small, but has everything you need to make a delicious dinner. It has all appliances such as blenders, toasters,… the kitchen is also equipped with an oven, a refrigerator, a sink, a microwave, and counter tops and cabinets.

There is a small bathroom with a sink, a closet, a mirror, a medicine cabinet, a toilet and all supplies you need. That’s right, there’s no shower indoors so there’s an outdoor shower perfect for a quick shower after a refreshing swim in the lake.

The lofts are completely fun and yet totally comfortable. The “kid loft” is right above the kitchen, so if there’s bacon cooking you’ll know it! J There’s a dresser, a lamp, two outlets, three mattresses, and a window view of the lake.

Last, but not least, there’s the lake! The lake is part of Long Pond in Lakeville.  The lake is clean and always the perfect temperature. Boats and rafts are allowed. There’s a sandbar farther down the lake. The sandbar extends into the lake so you could almost walk halfway across the lake to the island in the middle of the lake.

 The cottage is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!! J
