This is the third week of testing for PSSAs. The test isn’t as hard as I thought it would be, it is just so much work for not a real reason. None of this is going to affect our future for college or our jobs. It’s just something to stress you out for no reason. Right before we were about to take it last week I found myself ready for it. I was relaxed until Mr. Homa’s voice came over the PA system and said “Remember you can’t graduate without passing it.” After he said those words I began to tense up and my mind drew a blank. Until right before we opened the test booklet I saw Miss Reilly. Miss Reilly is probably Ringgold’s greatest accomplishment as a teacher. She, I can trust fully, and honestly say taught me everything I needed to know for this test. I was so nervous before I began taking Miss Reilly’s class. She gave me confidence that I didn’t have before. My best friend Devin and I both agree we wouldn’t have been able to do this without her. Another great accomplishment is Mr.Harris. He too gave me the courage I needed to complete the test. His way of teaching is so different than other English teachers. I should’ve probably been in College English both tenth and eleventh grade, but I took regular English because of him. He prepared us in every way he could and I give him all the credit for my scoring. Everyone always talks about how they’re from Ringgold and they can’t be smart, but they need to look at some of the teachers in this school. I mean we have our fair share of bad teachers, but who doesn’t? We need to look at the teachers like Mr.Harris and Miss Reilly who really make a difference.
