Seniors: you can now graduate. On May 12, the School Board for the School District of Holmen formally approved the graduation of 260 seniors from Holmen High School. Additionally, Ms. Parmenter will be leaving us for a position at WTC next year. These were quite possibly the only items on the agenda for this meeting that directly affected the students here. Granted, the social studies and language departments both gave district wide self-study reports, but this meeting did not have a lot to do with the high school overall. You may be wondering: What do they do then? Keep in mind that there are three (soon to be four) elementary schools, a middle school, and a family learning center that the district is in charge of as well. Much discussion occurred over the proposed charter school at the middle school level, and Dr. Carlson was officially hired to be the superintendent. Although not much involved us at this meeting, I would still encourage you to become more involved in our school board. Please contact me with any questions you may have and consider being a part of one of the school board committees. The email account (hhsboardrep@yahoo.com) is always available for your input.
