1. Temple Run: This game has literally changed the lives of many iPhone users. This highly addictive, yet ridiculously simple, game has become a main part of many people’s days. A game can last between five seconds to upwards of 20 minutes. With multiple goals to reach, and levels and characters to unlock, one can be playing this game for hours.

2. Paper Toss: This timeless classic still captivates many iPhone and iPod Touch users. Also extremely addicting, the Paper Toss game requires little thought and maximum concentration. With the ever-changing fan blowing a sometimes strong, sometimes weak, wind at your measly ball of crumpled paper, one must focus all of his or her attention on that particular throw.  Much like Temple Run, the length of this game can last anywhere from 5 seconds to hours of paper-tossin’ fun.

3. Fruit Ninja: Continuously topping the iTunes top purchased app lists, Fruit Ninja is a game of endurance and skill. The fast-paced game of flying fruit is a favorite among young and old, as the concept is easy enough to grasp and incredibly hard to stop. Once a game has begun, the quick motions used to slice the pieces of fruit must be alternated with the cautious movements used to avoid the bombs that will destroy your progress. Make sure you watch out for the Giant Pomegranate! Slash it as many times as you possibly can within the given time frame and receive extra points for each hit.

4. Mega Jump: This game has been descirbed as being,”the most addicting game of all time” and “excruciatingly fun and entertaining.” The basis for this game is to guide the small red creature through a sunny meadow to the “Galactic Core” throughout a series of levels. In order to keep the little guy in the air, one must collect enough coins to keep him afloat. With twenty levels in the first package alone, one can easily play for hours upon hours without  a break.

5. “With Friends” Games: From Words With Friends, to Scramble With Friends, to Hanging With Friends, the With Friends franchise has blossomed into a household name. Scramble With Friends is basically an interactive version of Boggle, Words With Friends is the equivalent to Scrabble, and Hanging With Friends is just like Hangman. These games use logic and wordplay to send moves back and forth between two smart phone users. This is the game that one can enjoy with friends, hence the name.
