At-a-glance

Its’ spring and many students have their class schedule filled out. In the upcoming 2010-2011 school year there are a few changes regarding the classes, which include new, added classes and classes that are being cancelled.

One of the most talked about upcoming class for the new school year in AP Environmental science. AP Environmental is a class for 11th and 12th graders. It consists of a theoretical look on how much people impact the environment. Environmental is a combination of biology and chemistry.

“General Environmental is more practical, while AP is more complicated and more in theory”, says Mrs.Dethloff, the teacher of the newly added AP class.

Sophomore student Clay Hersh, who will be taking the class next year, stated, “this is one of the classes I’m looking forward to next year.”

There are also classes being cancelled. In the upcoming year, Eisenhower’s curricular will be dropping classes such as Writing and Publishing I, II, and III and biotechnical engineering.

The reason behind some of the cancellations is simply because not enough students signed up to take the class. That is the case for Writing and Publishing III because no one signed up to take it.

For the students that did sign up for some of the cancelled classes might be running into problems.

Sophomore student Tyler Spanaus had signed up for Construction II, but it was among the cancelled classes. Students that had signed up for these cancelled classes with now have to take an alternative class.

Any students with questions should go see Mr. Buckley or their guidance consolers.
