1. Don’t fall asleep in class.

2. Socialize even if there’s no one familiar around. Try to make friends or else the rest of the year will be miserable.

3. Eat a good breakfast. It will be easier to stay awake during first hour.

4. If athletics are a part of the picture, don’t use sports as an excuse for not getting homework done. Use sports as motivation to keep those grades up.

5. Don’t forget your locker combination. The only thing more embarrassing than being a freshman who can’t open his own locker is being a senior who can’t open his own locker.

6. Don’t stay up too late on a school night. The morning bell rings at the wee hour of 7:15 a.m.

7. Don’t dilly dally in the hallways. E hall is already more clogged than Michael Moore’s arteries. All it takes is one unmoving body to totally block off the hallway from the rest of civilization.

8. Tired? Don’t wear pajamas to school. Comfortable clothes will just tempt one to fall asleep during a lecture.

9. Bring all needed supplies to school. Nobody likes the girl that mooches loose leaf paper before August is even over.

10. Hate a class? Instead of complaining, schedule fun classes for next school year.
