The basketball team faced off against Heritage Hall in their district game on Saturday the 18.

The team has already competed with Heritage Hall once this year. Unfortunately for the school, the game then resulted in a loss by a little less than 20 points.

This time around the scores were different, but the results were the same. Harding lost 47-55 and received a technical foul.

Jason Varga, who was at the game, says the game was “super close” all throughout and some were outraged by the referee’s choice to call a tech on Harding.

According to spectator Michael Emerson, Alex Eakers pushed a member of the other team after number 12 on the opposing team pulled on Eakers’ jersey and shorts. This caused the ref to call a tech on Harding.

“You can only take so much,” Eakers said.

“I remember everyone was booing at the refs because they called a penalty when it was the other team who started the fight,” Emerson said.
