Last Saturday, Willow Springs competed in the Sectional track meet at Hollister High School. The chance to compete at State was dangled in front the teams' noses. Willow held strong and was able to send three competiters to Jeff City.

Jessica Girdler, a junior who has broken records in shotput and discus, qualified for State with her first place discus throw of 111'.
"I'm really excited to compete, if I just push myself a little harder I know I can win it."

Junior Kelsie Hutsell also qualified for State; she recieved fourth place in the 1600 meter run with a time of 5:57. Quencie Colley may have graduated Saturaday, but that's not stopping her from competing this weekend. Quencie placed fourth in the 3200 meter run with a time of 12:54.

The rest of the team also did well with Freshman Kamryn Hutsell, Rachel Lowther, and Senior Lindsey James all placing in the top ten in their events. Boys also did a great job with graduate Wayne Hober placing seventh in the 3200 meter run with a time of 11:38, and Junior Jr. Kight placing eighth in high Jump with a jump of 5' 6".

Good Job Willow Bears and good luck on Friady and Saturday as you travel to Lincoln University to compete in State.
