Rihanna and Chris Brown Collage - DJ Johnson and Tatum Ynclino
Both superstar singers Chris Brown and Rihanna are rekindling their relationship again as rumors have it
that they are back together but haven’t announced it. They both feature in two
songs together that have recently been released.
“Turn up the Music” has some mildly troubling lyrics that Rihanna adds, “Turn
up the music cause I feel a little turned on” and the couple both sing together
“promising to do whatever it takes to make it right.”
In Rihanna’s song, “Birthday Cake” there are plenty of
explicit words said by both Chris Brown and Rihanna herself. The context of the
song has lyrics like “Been a long time, I been missing your body” and later on
in the song, “Give it to her in the worst way, can’t wait to blow her candles
out.” Towards the very end of the song Rihanna steps up the song by saying,
“Remember how you did it? Remember how you fit it? If you still wanna kiss it
come and get it.”
On Rihanna’s birthday, February 20, Brown messaged her on Twitter wishing her a
happy birthday. Rihanna tweeted, who wants some #CAKE???????????” and Brown
replies, “YIKES!!! Cake, cake, cake!” this stirred up “talk” amongst tweeters.
The collaborations of the lyrics to both of these songs
have fans and critics stirring, wondering what is going on with these two.
Domestic abuse experts think that it probably is not the best idea for the two
to rekindle again and fans are not very happy about it.
One fan tweeted “Do you really think this is the right thing to do? I think you
are encouraging young women to come back to those who beat you!”
Maura Johnston from Village Voice says, “I am pretty much grossed out by
the whole thing, to be honest.”
While other critics like the gossip blogger Perez Hilton explains his happiness
for the couple by saying, “I just can’t get enough #CAKE!! Music heals! It
really does! #MusicHeals!!! It has the ability to turn what was something
destructive into something great and positive!”
Junior Eden Cabines feels it’s a smart decision. She said, “I think it’s smart.
Everyone thought Chris was a bad guy, but he’s young and made a mistake. It is
just publicity.”
But another anonymous Campbell student she’s it
differently.
“I feel like it’s stupid on her part. I feel like she basically contradicted
herself about women’s empowerment.”
