With other schools around like Piper and Bishop Ward who have already had prom on April 4th and Turner who had theirs on April 18th, prom for Washington's juniors and seniors is fast approaching.

Senior Rashane’ Hamby expressed her excitement for prom by saying that she is excited for prom one reason being because you only have one prom.

“Even though it’s not at the best place, I’m sure my friends and I will have fun,” said senior Kandis Sykes.

With prom being only days away both the school and the students are preparing for what some will consider a big event in the high school years. Hamby replied with saying that to prepare she is looking for a dress.

With prom being held at the George Meyn Community Center at Wyandotte Park, many are questioning if they are still going, because it is not the ideal location. Others are still expecting the good. Sykes expressed that her expectations are “for everything to just turn out right”.

Prom night will be May 9th, 2009 from 7 to 11pm tickets for singles were 20 dollars for seniors if dues are paid by May 1st, and 30 dollars for seniors who have not paid and underclassmen. Couple tickets are 45 dollars for any senior who has paid dues and their guest. All other junior and senior couples pay 50 dollars.
