It's probably the most nerve-racking part of high school. It's the biggest obstacle that's sitting right between every student at Hanover-Horton and graduation. It's the one thing that most seniors are typically worried about. It's the reason why every student is told to save their work throughout high school. It's… that pesky portfolio.

Here at Hanover-Horton, every student is required to make a detailed portfolio that they will have to present in order to graduate. This portfolio will document the things that the students have accomplished throughout high school, the skills they have gained, and how they plan to use what they've learned in their career and future. The portfolio consists of exhibits from core classes as well as electives. Every student must make an up to date resume, have some kind of award, write multiple papers, and do much more in order to pass Senior Transitions, which is the class in which students create their portfolio.

Portfolio is not easy. It requires a lot of work and for most students it's the most challenging part of their senior year. The most important thing that underclassmen can do in order to prepare themselves for portfolio is to save as much of their school work as they possibly can, especially important assignments or ones that they've done exceptionally well on. Portfolio can be very distressful; however, students who have already taken portfolio say that the build up to the presentation is the worst part. They claim that the presentation itself wasn't hard at all, only the irksome wait beforehand. If students can get their heads in the game and start preparing for portfolio early on, that pesky thing won't be too hard to overcome. So come on, underclassmen! Start saving your work!
