Kate Middleton’s parents met Queen Elizabeth II and her husband, Prince Phillip, on Wednesday, April 20, for the first time.

They met at a private lunch held at the Queen's residence west of London. A spokesman for Buckingham Palace told the press that it was a small gathering that consisted of the Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, Mr. and Mrs. Middleton and possibly a small number of other people who were thought to be private secretaries. 

The Middleton’s met while working for an airline, but left to start up their own business. They now own a mail order party supplies business. Due to the start up of this business, the Middleton's are now millionaires who are proud parents of three children: Kate, Pippa, and James.

Kate, who is 29, met the Queen for the first time at the marriage of William’s cousin, Peter Phillips and Autumn Kelly, in May of 2008. Kate says in a interview, “she was in amongst a lot of other guests and she was very friendly,” talking about the queen. 

William, 28, added in the same engagement interview last November that, “She had wanted to meet Kate for a while, so it was very nice for her to come over and say hello. We had a little chat and got on very well.”

Kate and William's big day is only one day away! The knot will be officially tied on Friday, April 29.
