For the first time in the history of King City High School we had a Mustang Gold Assembly where the top students in our school were praised and had the chance to win some cool prizes.

The assembly consisted of three main categories: the bronze, silver, and gold medals.  The bronze medals were for students with a 3.25 to a 3.49 GPA, the silver was for 3.5 to 3.74 GPA, and the gold medal was for students with a 3.75 to a 4.0 GPA.  The silver group was the biggest group and the gold was our smallest group, but that is still good because it shows a lot of our school’s students have a 3.5-3.74 GPA.  There were also awards for student of the months, perfect attendance, and honor students.

There were two prizes that were raffled for the bronze and silver medals, and one given to the gold.  For the bronze they gave away two fifty dollar iTunes gift cards, two lucky silver medal students received iPod Nanos, and one lucky gold medal student received an iPad 2.

We also had a few performances from our Jazz Band, the Italian-Choir Class, Lily Quiroz signed a song in ASL, and the drum line was the conclusion of the assembly.
