Life On The Outside: Senior Edition
Liz looking regal. Awesome! - Acquaintance of Liz

The definition of what it means to be a debutant has changed over the years and is not very well known.  It used to mean a girl coming of age and becoming a woman and being accepted into society.  Now a debutant is a student leader in society.  Elizabeth Grayson and Madison Dunn are both debutantes for the Richardson Symphony League.   These debutantes help to raise money, visit troops, do fund raisers to help the group they are representing, as well as attend balls as representatives of those groups.  Being a debutant is very stressful and difficult at first but gets better.  It pays off in the long run, and it is very fun and rewarding to be able to participate.  Elizabeth Grayson has wanted to be a debutant since she was young because of all the stories her grandmother told her of when she was a debutant.  Elizabeth decided she liked the idea of debutantes and wanted to grow up to be one eventually.  Madison Dunn was the one who asked her if she wanted to become a debutant and pulled her into the folds.  Elizabeth is glad she did it and has loved every second of it.

According to Lisa Dunn, both Madison and Elizabeth were presented and honored at the 2012 Richardson Symphony League Ball held at the Hyatt North Dallas on Saturday, March 31, 2012.  Both of these young women served as Richardson Symphony Debutantes, performing community service, raising funds for the Richardson Symphony Orchestra, and serving as ambassadors of the Orchestra at community events and concerts.   Recruitment for the Debutante and Honor Guard program for next year has begun.  If you're interested, seek out Madison or Elizabeth for more info.
