A New Year’s resolution is a commitment that an individual makes at the beginning of the year to better a habit. Research shows that only 46% of people keep their personal goal for the first 6 months.
Billy Thai, a freshman student at NOVI, said his New Year’s resolution is to “stop slacking off and get better grades”. Perhaps if Billy had slacked off in the first place he wouldn’t have to worry about raising his grades.
“My New Year’s resolution is to have a larger amount of seniors complete their FAFSA” says Mrs. Lomeii a counselor here at Norte Vista.
Brianna FarFan a sophomore said she wants to “get through high school get excepted to a four year university with a full scholarships” she plans to keep it by not “[Procrastinating] and just don’t let anyone bring [her] down and tell her she can’t do anything”.
William Cody Marquez, a freshman student, said, “This year I don’t want to get any D or F”. “I’m going to achieve this by working harder and listen to what the teacher has to say”. My recommendation to Cody is that he shouldn’t slack off and should keep going his work.

It’s a good thing to set goals for yourself. The toughest thing about it is achieving them.
Here are some of my recommendations to help you achieve your New Year’s resolution for example if you want to get good grades it helps if you respect your teachers. You should be on time to all your classes so that you don’t miss any educational time. If you want to loose weight you should try to join a gym.
