The Lady Tigers are 4-4 in league and are looking to turn the season around and win out. The Lady Tigers took on the Granite Bay Grizzlies last Wednesday and the Woodcreek Timberwolves last Tuesday in their first two conference games. Roseville defeated Granite Bay 3-0, after only scattering five hits, the team managed to get three runs across. Roseville wasn’t as successful against Woodcreek, as they fell 3-1.

“We are fighting to stay alive in league,” said head coach Jennifer Birch.

Due to rain the past couple weeks, the Tigers had to play a double header on Monday the 16 against the Nevada Union Miners. In the set, the Lady Tigers put on a show, combining for 23 runs over the course of the two games. The Lady Tigers won the first game, 13-0 and ten-running the Miner 10-0 in the second.

The team played the Granite Bay Grizzlies on Thursday, April 19. The Lady Tigers were scoreless through five innings until scoring in the sixth. The Lady Tigers were still down by a score of 2-1 until junior Kayla Fields came up and hit a single to score two runs and take the lead for Roseville. Roseville ended up scoring one more run, winning the game by a score of 4-2.

The Lady Tigers took on the Del Oro Golden Eagles on Tuesday, April 17. The Lady Tigers held the Eagles to a score of 2-2 until the seventh inning and ended up losing to the Eagles by a score of 4-2.

In light of the recent win, senior Lollie Fitzpatrick is optimistic about the direction the team is going.

“I’m very excited we are starting to come together as a team and we are taking it one game at a time,” Fitzpatrick.
