Do you text in class? Well it’s becoming a problem and over half of all students at SBHS do this dirty deed. I think that administrators should just let us text in class because the people that do it aren’t getting work done anyways and that’s the main reason they don’t want us texting in class.
But it doesn’t help; it just makes us want to do it more. It’s also dangerous because what if an emergency happens and that person’s parents needed to get a hold of them they can’t if there phone is off. I’m also sure people would concentrate more in class. Also I think the school has no right to take what you or your parents bought and pay for every month so that is unfair but there are two sides to everything. Fourteen year old freshmen Kayla Freitas, is in favor of the in-class ban on texting.
Freitas said she thinks it’s wrong to text in class because “we do it so much and then we do it during class when you’re supposed to be leaning and trying to make something of yourself!” she says texting can be a waste of time. And it’s annoying when you don’t have someone full attention because they are texting 24/7.
But I guess it would be annoying if you were trying to teach and a student doesn’t give you his or her full attention. But students are going to do it anyways and when teachers take their phone away the student’s parents get it back and they do it again so these rules are pointless. Maybe if classes were more fun we wouldn’t want to text in class.
