They’re cute, they’re sweet, and they’re for a good cause.
For the past couple weeks, there has been a craze for candy grams at Briar Woods High School.
The ones behind the frenzy were the members of the Change for Charity club.
“We are selling the candy grams to raise money for the Children’s National Medical Center for Cancer,” Anita Kishore, junior, said.
Whether you buy a small gram for three dollars or a bigger one for four dollars, the money will be going toward a good cause.
“We thought that this would be the perfect time to raise money because it’s the holiday season. Everyone is looking for gifts to give people, and who wouldn’t want to give a candy gram?” Kishore said.
While members of the club weren’t surprised, they were very pleased with the rate of sales. “So many people have bought candy grams. They seem to be so popular,” said Kishore.
These candy grams are making students very ecstatic, not only because they are adorable and enjoyable, but because they’re for a good cause.
“I’ve already bought a couple, but I plan on getting a couple more for my friends,” said Ann Vespestad, senior.
Senior, Paras Gupta, is also planning on buying some candy grams.
“I’m going to buy one for all of you,” Gupta told a group of Falcon peers, including Vespestad. Not only are students excited about sending the candy grams, but they are also anxious to receive them.
Senior, Samantha Russell, said that she can’t wait to see if she’ll receive a candy gram.
“Even though I probably won’t get one, I’m very anxious to see if just one of my friends, or even a random person, sent me one,” Russell said.
“All I really want to see is if I get a candy gram from Paras,” Vespestad joked.
Candy gram sales ended December 16, but they will be distributed next week before winter break on Tuesday and Wednesday during first and fifth block.
