Monday, April 4, was no ordinary track practice for Taylor Hamilton.
The senior was surprised with a Flash Mob, organized by senior Grant Douglas who asked her to senior ball.
"Nothing went wrong," said Douglas, the senior who had performed a routine to High School Musical’s "Night to Remember" with the help of thirty friends.
He remembers his friend, Nikki Young, suggesting the idea to him, jokingly.
Douglas organized three practices for the Flash Mob as a facebook event. The dance consisted of people hiding in different areas and leaping onto the football field at different times. The routine was created by him and his friend, Amber Beebe. He also, of course, had the approval of Coach Eckman, Hamilton’s track coach.
The whole process took about a month, says Douglas, who handed Hamilton a boquet of pink carnations as he wore a coat and tie.
Although the entire Flash Mob was a surprise to Hamilton, the asking was not.
She says she and Douglas had agreed to go together last year. She just had no idea how he was going to ask him.
The only thing Douglas said he would have changed was having more people.
On a scale of 1-10, Hamilton says she was a "9" as far as being surprised.
