This time of year can get busy and stressful, as there are many obligations that must be fulfilled. Sports are in the tail end of their seasons, however teams still practice and work hard. For those involved in the planning and execution of homecoming, this can be a very stressful time. It is easy to slip into the habit of stress, to allow yourself to become overwhelmed; when this happens, nothing is accomplished. There are several simple ways to avoid the stress epidemic.  One of the best, and mainly unrecognized ways to curb stress and the resulting lack of production, is to prioritize and list all the tasks that need to be accomplished. Writing these things down and being able to cross them off will not only help keep you organized and on track, but it will also provide a sense of accomplishment. Being able to cross an item off of a list is gratifying, it presents an opportunity to see what has been conquered, and serves as motivation to complete the rest of the duties. Time management and focus also play major roles in productivity. Each task will require a different amount of time, and should occupy your time accordingly. Only spend enough time on an item as it deserves; be careful not to waste time on a task of lesser importance. Focus your attention on only one task at a time. This will not only help to complete each task more quickly, and more efficiently, but it will prevent the squandering of time. Add time for relaxation to the list of duties. Taking time to relax can help clear your head. Relaxing also helps to calm exhausted nerves, and improves the efficiency of the tasks to come. At well spaced and plentiful intervals, allow yourself time to unwind and de clutter your brain. Relaxation will lift your spirits, and promote a good, productive attitude.   The first step to completing any task is to take a step. Procrastination only allows the list of responsibilities to grow, adding to stress and creating a feeling of overwhelm. Completing each task as it is assigned, and adding it to a running list of tasks is an excellent way to prevent burnout. Make lists, manage your time wisely, focus, take breaks and soon you will see why high school years are often referred to as the best years of a young persons life.
