Walking down the aisles of a popular department store in a jammed mall, I’m not surprised to see tags with words like “Super Low” and “Hipsters” on jeans, and shirts no longer than my hands.
I am, however, surprised to see it on pants made for little girls. I will admit that my heart skipped a beat or two when I saw a mini skirt in size five… Girls size five.
At school it is customary to see girls in tight, low pants, with thong straps pulled high. Is it attractive? Does it make them appealing?
This topic would not concern me if it only lasted one fashion season, in fact, I’d probably never have noticed it. Unfortunately this has gone on for far too long. Day in and day out people around the world are forced to observe the low rise pants, skirts, and shorts that plague our streets.
Some guys may say that the clothes are “flattering” or even “hot” but if high school and college guys look, others can to. In fact, what’s to stop an eighty year old man from looking, surely the only consequence could be a heart attack.
The fact is, women, and girls, should be able to feel beautiful without sleazy clothing that reveals all too much, and leaves nothing to that good ol’ American imagination. I mean, honestly, what’s worse, imagining the way something looks, or actually seeing it?
