Senior year!
Advertising

Since becoming a senior earlier this year, I have discovered that it’s not all proms and football games. I’ve been truly busy for the first time in my high school career. On top of all my normal classes, I attend college in the afternoon on certain days. It’s been feeling like this semester is the eleventh hour or something, mainly because of the University of Texas at Austin’s looming deadline which is  December 1.

I’m almost done, though. I’ve been figuring out the balancing academics and a social life is harder than I thought it would be. Perhaps this is why most people end up choosing one over the other, but I’m trying to have the best of both worlds. Sometimes I get scared that one will overshadow the other (mostly that the academic will engulf the social) but in the end, it never seems to. Sure there are times where I have to choose when to stay in and work on an essay or go out and have fun with the some of my closest friends, but it all evens out.

Hopefully sometime next week, my application will be in (or on its way to) Austin, Texas. After that, I can take a big collective sigh of relief. With this application finished, I’ll be able to get my other applications over with in no time at all. For now, I’m working my way through this ridiculously busy year.
