The 2010 Desoto Central volleyball team has had a season no one will forget. Desoto Central volleyball went from being unheard of to being in the top four teams in the state. They have far exceeded the low expectations some people placed on them. They have been through many learning experiences this season but it was all for the better.

This season they traveled to Muscle Shoals to compete with top teams in Alabama. They played tough and competitive teams that pushed them to work harder than they had all season. It showed them what needed to be fixed to improve the team as a whole to succeed in playoffs. They also experienced a comeback that shocked people from all around. DC hosted a home game against district rival Southaven. The jaguars had lost the first two games and Southaven thought they had the win. With amazing crowd support and the jaguars heart in the game, DC came back to win the match. Desoto Central also went undefeated in district making them district champs two years in a row.

All of these factors helped prepare the girls for state playoff games. In the 2009 season, the jaguars ended their season in the second round playoffs. However this season they made it to the North Half championship game. The 1st round was played against Starkville and the girls came out with a win. 2nd round was played at Madison Central. This game would determine who the regional champs were and who would advance in playoffs. DC pushed through and defeated Madison. The 3rd round playoff game was the North Half game. The jaguars faced the Golden Wave at Tupelo. This game was filled with a lot of emotion. Tupelo had been the 2009 state champs and it was the last game before the state championship game. DC played their hearts out but could not come out with a win.

After all the jaguars were faced with they still had a successful season. No one could tell them they could not do something. They persevered through anything that was thrown at them. With a great coaching staff, cheering crowds, and supportive parents, the Lady Jaguar volleyball team will continue to be top in the state.
