One of Colorado’s main attractions includes Rocky Mountain National Park. The National Park’s 415 square miles encompass and protect the spectacular mountain environments. Along with having over 300 miles of hiking trails, the mountain scenery of the park is brought to life by the plants and animals that make their home in Rocky Mountain National Park.
Colorado is famous for its elevation. The average elevation, at over one mile above sea level, is the highest in the nation. The Denver Broncos play in the Mile High Stadium, which forces the players to use oxygen masks because the stadium’s air is so thin.
Speaking about heights, Colorado has 51 of the 80 highest North American Peaks. And in the state, a popular place is the world’s highest suspension bridge and gaze down more than 1,000 feet at the state’s spectacular canyon, Royal George.
There’s no substitution for a Colorado winter vacation. Colorado’s 26 ski and snowboard resorts open earlier and stay open in the season than anyone else. Also, the state is known for having the largest ski resorts in the nation. All of this adds up to undeniable fact that Colorado ski slopes offer some of the most unbelievable trails and thrilling rides anyone will find in North America.
