Grad Nite takes place on the last day of school, May 31 from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. on June 1.
“It is the one last huge party just for [seniors] with the friends they have learned with and grown up with over the last four years,” Grad Nite Committee Co-Chair Karen Genis said.
Tickets for Grad Nite were  sold on campus during lunch and breaks for months before graduation, this year the tickets cost $60.
Grad Nite tickets were not available this year with the Senior Package. Seniors that go are provided with food, drinks, a T-shirt, various forms of entertainment and for the seven hour event.
“I am excited about Grad Nite because I’ve heard many great things about it from people who have gone in the past. I’ve heard that it’s one of the greatest nights of high school,” senior Hanaa Abugabara said.
This year there is planned to be a rock climbing wall, inflatable, a photo booth station and many more activities.
Most of the events at Grad Nite are kept unknown to the public until the night of graduation.
“Over the years students have learned what we normally have at Grad Nite. We introduce new things every year to spark interest and keep it interesting,” Genis said.
In order for more seniors to go to Grad Nite, the Committee tries to keep the ticket cost low as possible.
They achieve this through getting sponsors such as Coca-Cola and Kahoots Pet Store.
Not all seniors decide to go to Grad Nite.
“I would just really like to spend the time after graduation with my family,” senior Kody Sweitzer said.
The other way the Grad Nite Committee keeps the cost down is by having Grad Nite on campus.
This is the 20th year Grad Nite has been held on campus, there have been attempts to have Grad Nite off campus, but they have never succeeded.
It is also safer and more convinent to have the massive event on campus.
The average cost of Grad Nite is around $20 thousand.
The money is raised throughout the year and the Committee tries to get as much entertainment for the night as possible.
The committee raises money through baskets sold at the athletic auction, and through other fund raisers that happen during the year.
One of this baskets sold at the  auction is designed specifically for senior parents, it includes 20 tickets to Graduation, and decorations and seating in the sky box above the football field.
“I decided to go because it’s the last time I am going to see most of my classmates before we go our separate ways,” Abugabara said.
