On Tuesday October 13, students from Ms. Cyndi Otero's first period leadership class teamed up with counselors Ms. Kara Swan and Mrs. Karen Garcia to host a Four Year Planner Meeting in the Tech Center. The Four Year Planner Meetings are designed to help students learn about the variety of classes available to them in high school, to inform them of the A-G requirements, and aid them in choosing classes and tracing credits needed to graduate high school or attend a four-year college. Swan and Garcia observed while the leadership students helped freshman and sophomores complete Four Year Planner charts that recorded courses taken during freshman and sophomore year and possible courses for junior and senior year, and monitored credits necessary for graduation. Both Swan and Garcia helped advise the meetings and answered questions leadership students were unsure of.
"I thought Four Year Planners were very successful," said Garcia. "It is a big benefit for students because it helps freshman and sophomores that don't feel connected at Casa find a direction for their future."
