The Mid-Texas symphony played with one Steele student and three Clemens students at Steele auditorium to introduce the public to classical music. The performance was free and held on Thursday, May 10th at 7:30pm.
“This performance is a great educational experience,” Jennifer Tudyk said. She is the orchestra teacher of Dobie.
The symphony played pieces from Mozart, Brahms, Telemann, Krug, Handel, and Schubert. The symphonies first violinist, Craig Sorgi, gave a brief commentary before each piece telling of its history and style
“The Mid-Texas symphony supports many other events and children throughout Texas,” Alfredo Cabajal said. He is one of the Clemens students who played in the mid-Texas symphony.
Money raised in other performances by the Mid-Texas Symphony helps them play free concerts for economically disadvantaged kids, train girls in social skills, and cotillions.
“I hope that everyone came to the show, especially my orchestra students,” Mrs. Tudyk said.
