Joan, a senior at SCA, loves going on mission trips. She stated that at the beginning of each trip she never feels like going, but once she is there she is always so happy she went. She likes going on these mission trips because her faith grows stronger with each one, and she gets to tell people about how great God is.
Each summer since freshman year, Joan has gone on two mission trips. However, this year she is going on three. Joan plans on going to Nebraska for one week, South Dakota for one week, and Uganda for a full month to minister. She is looking forward to telling people about how much Jesus loves them and making new friends. Joan is looking forward to seeing her family and old friends in Uganda, but she is also worried about what to expect and what they will expect of her.
When asked what she would tell a person before their first mission trip, she said, “Always expect God to work because He always does. Have your heart right with God and be willing to do whatever He says.”
