In my opinion it is clear that the school start time change at Nauset is much better than the previous start time. As a high school student I feel like with the old start time I simply was not able to wake up fully rested no matter how early I went to bed. I am much more relaxed and awake this year now that school starts an hour later. The start time in my opinion does not have any negative sides. I mean, we do get out later but I don’t think a single time in class this year I’ve dozed off when last year during first and last block I was often exhausted. I also see no difference in time to do my work. It is true that many kids do complain about the start time. However, it is also true that many kids complained about getting up early last year. Although they claim that they would rather get out later than sleep in I think no matter what the time was there would be complaints. So in my opinion the later start time should be here to stay.
