“I think we’re off to a good start and I’m looking forward to many games,” says sixth-grader Jonna Kennedy, the goalie on the Watertown Middle School girls’ hockey team.
The team is made up of mostly sixth- and eighth-graders, with a few seventh-graders. The coaches are Sara York and Mark Boudreau. The players think that the coaches are nice and strict.
“There are lots of new people, but everyone is getting better,” says sixth-grader Kaitlin Pelletier. “I’m looking forward to a wonderful season.”
The practices are Wednesdays and Saturdays at 3 p.m.
“The team is off to a good start and hopefully we’ll have a good season,” says sixth-grader Sydney Poulin.
“We practice getting the puck out of our zone, passing, shooting, and skating backwards and in circles,” says sixth-grader Addie Faggas.
The games are on the weekends. The team lost its first game.
“The first game was a bad start, but I have a feeling we will do much better as the year goes on,” says sixth-grader Madelyn Leitner.
