and superheroes

Every year, right around the end of January, Watertown Middle School is in for an exciting time, Spirit Week!
Spirit Week is a time for students to show their true, wacky colors. This year from Jan. 28 to Feb. 1, WMS will have five days filled with fun, punctuated by a dance at the end of the week.
The first day will be Pajama Day. As long as the PJss follow the dress code, students can wear them. Let’s hope that Mr.Oates can find his snuggy soon enough!
Tuesday is Crazy Hair/Hat Day. Hats ranging from baseball caps to massive hippo hats will be present, along with an array of mohawks and cowlicks.
Wednesday is Sports Day. On this day, people can express their love for their favorite team, from Celtics jerseys to baseball pants. But don’t wear a football jersey if it’s not the Patriots’ or you’ll be in for some trouble.
Thursday is Superhero Day. People can dress up like their favorite superhero, and capes and masks will be everywhere. Villains will be scarce as superheros roam!
Finally, Friday, possibly the best day, is Spirit Day. This is the day when everybody wears Watertown colors of to show Watertown spirit. There will be excitement everywhere as white, black, and red stream across the halls.
“All the kids enjoy Spirit Week and everyone is in a cheerful mood the whole week,” said Emily K., a seventh-grader.
“It’s exciting,’’ said Meghan F, another seventh-grader. “It’s a good way for the school to come together and celebrate.”
Spirit Week is a super fun and exciting time for students and faculty to get together as a school and show their love for WMS.
